I reckon this might be a case of a ''Lunar halo''.

Like an idiot I crossed a frigid, swollen river to get these images. The usual low water crossing was not so low, but the path on the near side went over ice-covered rocks. These were taken at the same spot, the smaller falls looking downstream through the ravine, and the other looking upstream toward the big drop. The water was swift and cold. My wife was not amused, even when I told her I used both trekking poles to stay upright. Sheesh.

Well done. Can you describe the technique to get these? Tripod/multiple shots?
