Web site upgrade and image albums

My web sites have now been moved to much more modern servers by my hosting provider, Vodien. Along with the usual cockups, and increased fees, of course.

I have just completed the required update of my image album software and database.
This required a complete rebuild of the database, among other things. While all semi-automatic, there was still a 1-2 hours of anxious waiting for the process to complete on all 5225 images and ~294 albums.

Have just inserted redirects from my domain names to my actual WordPress website. Last time I tried this, I killed everything ... However, all is now well.

My website is now hosted on SSDs.

Apart from the aforementioned cockups, Vodien have been very helpful at every step of the way.

Still waiting for the ramblings........
I've got to work out how WordPress works, Richard.
Oh, did I mention how much I loathe and detest Unix, and all its various derivatives?

Here are some thoughts that I wrote on the back of a hospital menu, while I was striving to die. I had lost nearly 30 Kgs in less than a week after a total colectomy. I knew I would forget it, if I didn't write it down immediately ...

I always reckoned that there should be something for those of us who are atheists.

Written on my mother's birthday, when she was still with us
I'm glad to say you are still with us, John !

Should’ve gotten the crusty dinner roll mate.
Chris, I could not even keep water down.

They mixed up a special brew for my biochemistry in Sydney every day, and flew it down to Melbourne by medical courier to plug into the three tubes in the RHS of my neck. Strangely, I still have the scars from those intravenous feeding needles. Why three? I haven't got the slightest idea.

AFTER they intubated me my white cell count went through the roof, even though I had no infection. My surgeon said to me "I knew you were dying, but all your bloods were normal." (Up until that point, anyway!).

I've always had very peculiar biochemistry and neurochemistry.

Anyway, after several years, my gastrointestinal tract sort of compensated for the lack of a colon, but it still amazes me that it all works at all! I don't have a colostomy or ileostomy bag, what's left is anastomosed internally.

I was in hospital for about three weeks.

I had extremely bad diverticular disease.

That's quite profound. Amazing what comes out when under extreme duress.

I hope you aren't in that situation ever again.

I haven't had a BLT for ages.

Thank you kindly, Richard.

I have been, four times - open heart surgery to replace my knackered mitral valve, cardiac ablation to try to ameliorate the wild electrical signals being generated inside my heart, a pacemaker inserted, a second emergency ablation.

However, I make very certain that the anaesthetist is aware of 1) that general anaesthetics are made from eggs; and 2) that I am violently allergic to eggs ... Some haven't been aware of that!!!
I haven't had a BLT for ages.
I had one yesterday at our local cafe when we went out for a bite of lunch 😁 . My wife might be a near vegetarian, but I need a high protein diet with high fibre (e.g. full pulp orange juice) and a fair bit of full cream ice cream to keep my guts happy, and a balanced intake of vitamin K to keep my Warfarin level stable.

And since my last post, all the problems with a stroke and multiple sub-dural haematomas.

A couple of days ago, my access to my website cPanel and galleries stopped working. No FTP, no cPanel, no access.

After phone calls lasting 79 mins (didn't work), 65 mins (didn't work), and finally today 60 mins, I now have access to both cPanel and galleries and FTP again.

It seems that my hosting provider decided that administrative access to my account and actual access to my website are now two different things, and had (?) allocated different credentials to each.

Of course, they neither bothered to notify me of this, or the new credentials. So the first two calls were apparently fixing my account access, not my website access ... DOH!

Today's call finally fixed my website access ...

Security can be taken to absurd lengths ...
