today i received two interesting 135mm lenses, that i wanted to compare with the wellknown Leica Summicron 90mm, despite of their different openings and focal lengths:
Weltblick f3,5/135mm by Weltblick, M42 mount, adapted, 84mm long, incl. adapter 116mm, ca. 365g, Filter 49mm
Tele-Ennalyt f2,8/135mm bei Enna, München, M42 mount, adapted, 85mm long, incl. adapter 117mm, ca. 350g, Filter 49mm
Summicron f2,0/90mm by Leica, Leica M mount, adapted, 79mm long, incl. adapter 88mm, ca. 540g, Filter E55
The three lenses: Weltblick, Tele-Ennalyt, Summicron (from left to right)
4,00m distance, the sun is about 3,5cm, the big letters about 3mm high
I used Provia film modus at ISO800, clouded sky whitebalance, X-E1 on a tripod. All pictures are sooc jpeg's. I cropped them to the same size for better comparing. The photo of the Summicron is much more cropped than the other ones, because of 2/3 focal length. All lenses are adapted by an mount adapter.
Weltblick f3,5/135mm vs. Tele-Ennalyt f2,8/135mm vs. Summicron f2/90mm at f5,6
So, now we look at the lenses at f5,6:
The scene is the same handmade glass picture, distance 4,00m, the sun is about 3,5cm, the big letters about 3mm high.

You can see clearly the difference in between the 3 lenses. Again the Weltblick ist the sharpest, than the Summicron, after that the Tele-Ennalyt. The Tele-Ennalyt appears to be pale. Furthermore the photo of the summicron is much more cropped.

So, now we look at the Weltblick f3,5/135mm at different apertures:

The Weltblick f3,5 / 135mm is a sharp lens. I don't want to say sharper as the Summicron, as the Summicron photos were much more cropped. The Weltblick for itself is a very small lens, but needs a much larger adapter as the Summicron. Considering the fact, that the Weltblick is available for 49,-€ at the bay and the Summicron costs 20 times more, this old manual focussing lens is a good bargain. The Tele-Ennalyt is not in the same class as the Weltblick or the Summicron. Furthermore the Weltblick is much better to focus. I wouldn't recommend to buy it.
Thank you for taking the time to purchase the equipment, doing the tests, and presenting the results. The Weltblick seems like outright theft at the quoted price
Hi, CaptZoom :tiphat:,
I saw the Tele-Ennalyt on eBay and it pleased me because its a small good old style looking full machined metall lens. There is not so much information on sharpness in the net. Than you must feel the lens in your hand concerning focussing and so on...
So, at first, i wanted to know for myself, how sharp the lens is, how it's performing in comparison with other lenses.
Second, it's fun writing a kind of review exter: and see, that other people like it. There is never enough information on this old lenses in the net. The more we all write in the forum, the more we can have fun with our bargains.
we saw, that there are limitations to the Weltblick f3,5/135mm to make a photo of a ca. 250m away red container with a ca. 40x60 cm label. Handheld in a misty weather i can't read the about 10cm high letters...
But, there are extenders, and the Weltblick 2x Extender, that i got for 24€ in the bay, performs quite good:
I think, the sharpness is not comparable to the lens without the extender. But, i want to say, that this little piece of metal and glass isn't to bad to give it away - i will have some tripod shoots in bright weather to find a final decision.
Critics and comments are appreciated exter:
Thank you!
Ah, i found a good source for the lens:Weltblick is a trademark of german catalog company Neckermann Versand GmbH, Frankfurt and was built by Tomioka.
Fujidanny
On this photo i saw in iPhoto green colour fringing around the left dug and purple colour fringing at the right dug.
But on those photos, i can't see it - can anybody explain this to me ?
Okay, futher investigations are necessary :dejection:, a lot of fun with that lens-test !
Like a phoenix from the ashes: Tele-Ennalyt goes macro!
Hello :tiphat:
the last days were a little bit disappointing , because i hoped the two old Weltblick and Enna lenses could satisfy me by sharpness and colour rendering.
The Tele-Ennalyt f2,8 / 135mm showed great problems in sharpness, so that i didn't go on with further testing.
The Weltblick f3,5 / 135mm is quite sharp, showed in further testing green and purple colour fringing.
So, what to do ?
It's Easter Monday morning and the weather is fine, first flowers to see on the lawn, the bushes are in bud...
Suddenly the idea  : Didn't i buy those lovely old close-up rings by Schacht/Ulm a weak ago? They should fit very well to the Tele-Ennalyt. Let's have a look, how that functions!
Yeah! That looks good!

I used those setting:
Velvia, ISO 400, F8, Exp.-2/3EV DRauto, WBauto, STone -1
I was really surprised - i wanted to sell that lens as fast as possible, but now i don't wanna miss it for such pictures
See more in the following post!
Help, please help I can't see the difference, give me some comments exter:, please!
They look all so good, whether color nor b&w: i don't know what to say
Verdict: Don't think too bad about a lens, before you didn't try it out in different ways - you never know, what the best performance is, unless you test it in different situations. Both lenses perform very well out in the field, any sharpness tests don't give you the right info on a lens, there are much more things to proof. Both lenses render a beautiful boket, sometimes the softness of the Tele-Ennalyt is the bringer.
keep in mind, the Weltblick costs about 50-75€ (75-100$), the Tele-Ennalyt 20-35€ (30-45$). They are both good bargains.
Some discuss: is the X-E1 the new Leica M? I think it's a good alternative with all those beautiful old manual focus lenses.
I love my 18-55 very much, especially, when i'm out with the family - not to much time for focussing and so on. But: When I am out to celebrate good old school photography, to come down and relax, there is nothing giving more fun to me as those old manual focussing lenses, thinking about the best view, zooming by feet...
