I posted earlier that if any non-professional wants to buy a $60k Hasselblad just to photograph their family, I totally understand.

I've had an absurd amount of gear for essentially making family pictures (think 3 x Nikon F3 with 2 motordrives and 20 Nikkor lenses), and I never regretted it. We have about 1 m of photo albums covering 20 years of our family life and I thank myself for having the cameras ready and dragging them along on vacations, family outings and what have you.

Yes, yes, yes. You will never ever regret you had the best camera you could afford to capture all those family moments. Your grandkids and their children and their children's children will not regret it either.
