Apple What Apple Laptop For A First Time User?

ORDERED!!

Mac Mini M4 Pro
48GB RAM
1TB SSD

Crunched the numbers and looked at specs and I like the price to performance ratio.
Now going to look to upgrade my monitors to 4k capable ones and start looking for an external SSD for images. Going to be interesting to convert over. The good thing is, I already have an external hard drive that is my backup drive. I can use that to pull over my Lightroom folders of images to the new external SSD and I won't need to muck with trying to sync up machine to machine. My lightroom catalog is also backed up to the external hard drive.

Just will go in and deactivate all the apps from the old PC and then download and re-activate on the new Mini.

I pick up the new machine from the local Apple Store next Friday.

THANK YOU ALL for tolerating me and helping me through this upgrade process. It's been 8 years since I did this last time. The Intel i7-8700 based machine served well, but I can see where it is showing it's age. Will post some picks and such once i get it and get it all setup.

Congrats! I figured an M4 mini would be the choice when I read the specs today. It should be a beast!

I might just take that Friday off, get the new machine and spend the day swapping everything over! :D

Also ordered a 4TB external SSD for my image archive transfer over to Lightroom on the mini.

Just checked the storage and I only have 600GB left on my 2 TB HDD in my current machine. Figured I might as well upgrade the space while I’m doing everything else.
