Thanks for posting that. Fascinating! Clearly, the Fuji folks are verrrrry serious about cleanliness.

I would love to interview folks at Fuji, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus about how they make decisions in the design of lenses. It strikes me (from a position of almost total ignorance) that optics design may be a bit like writing in that, in the beginning of the process, there are potentially so many different routes that you might take to get to the end result that you want, so many different design considerations, and so forth.
