otalp, congratulations on keeping your G6 alive for what seems like eons in the digital age!

For those unfamiliar with that camera, the G6 was released in August, 2004....

Thank you for the flowers! To my experience, shooting RAW the G6 still delivers nice images. The f/2 lens is excellent and its 7.1 mp images are sufficient even for 30x40 cm² prints. For fast snapshots, you do need to manual pre-focus, though.

Off she went, the X20 ... I will stick to the G6, at least until the hype is over, serious reviews are available, production rate has stabilized and prices come down. And yes, I do have the X10 prices on my screen. The EXR sensor concept still has charm.

After eight years, the G6 still goes for 170 €. Cannot be that bad, after all ...
