Bighorn sheep in Marble Canyon on the Colorado River. These guys were plentiful throughout Marble and Grand Canyons. We saw many larger ones but never at a time I had a camera ready. We concluded that with the environs were near perfect for the species with the scarcity of any natural predators (mountain lions rarely venture below the canyon rims, bobcats and coyotes aren't numerous and have plenty of easier food sources), the vast terrain to which they are ideally suited, and the apparent abundance of food sources (at least during springtime after a wet winter).

Playful Red Fox kits...these images were taken across the Yellowstone River at over 200 yards so are large crops.
