What a beautiful creature, Dan. I've never expected to see one up a tree!
Like our tree kangaroos here, it doesn't exactly look at home there ...

I saw three of them in trees yesterday. One of them was eating the bark off a tree. I think that being up the tree is also a defense against predators like coyotes.

Mule deer bedded down. I had my 500mm and it was just a bit too telephoto. Too bad I didn't have the 100-400 with me.
