I was out on a hike in the GSMNP. Like most of my hikes I am looking to shoot flowers, mushrooms, insects, and a landscape here or there. So I tend not to bring a telephoto. Today that was a mistake. My longest lens was my D FA 100 Macro.
There was actually a second young bear in the trees above. It never really revealed itself much.
Then there was momma:
The cubs had to be 70+ feet high in the trees. The momma climbed up about 30-40 feet to keep an eye on them.
