I'll be trying the X Vario's internal b/w conversion soon, especially after seeing what others have done with it.

I did NOT like this one for the first minute or so that I looked it. I like many of your other images, but not this one. Then I told myself, "Look, someone poked a hole in the sky!" and I started liking it. So now I like it. I suspect this says more about me than about your work. I hope you take no offense; I certainly intend none.

Thanks for the honesty. I haven't been able to get out to shoot in the last couple of days, so I started looking through a few older shots. I thought I'd try to see what could be done with this one in black and white. It helped the shot, but it's likely that I need to get out and get some better images to work with.
