That's really the beauty of the XC zooms. Fuji manages to build them with great optical quality for around $50, so they can be bundled in very affordable kits. There's no optical compromise, only lighter materials (plastic), no aperture ring and no switches on the barrel. They even save a few cents by using a super-cheap semi-transparent rear lens cap instead of a real one.

That clearish rear lens cap... I just push it on instead of trying to thread it. Works well enough.

^ That's how I got a brand-new XC50-230 lens from Japan for about $180.

And the X-T10 goes for $1100 with 18-55, or $800 body only.

Looks like we are not that much dearer for the body only or with lens. Less than $100 in the difference, that believe me, is good for here .. Little island off of Europe, we tend to generally get screwed on price for lots of things ..

One can by nice third-party caps for a few bucks, so it's not an issue for me. Actually, I bought combos consisting of rear lens caps and camera body caps. These things tend to get lost (at least temporarily), so to have a few spares at hand never hurts.
