Took the family out to a Christmas fair today. Got a chance to take a few pics.

I got quite a lot, so I will try and only post a few….

These are very nice, especially the first one. Aside from your skills, the camera seems to be holding up its end. They have a certain “look” that works really well with these subjects. If I may ask, what film simulation is this?

Found this thread lately and in general it is full of great images - but, specifically, the tones and feeling of these last two series you posted here (using the Classic Neg simulation) are rather breathtaking. Great images, beautifully rendered. Thanks for posting them.
Very kind of you to say!

Admittedly I have been posting in other threads with the XT5, so will try and repost a few into this thread for reference for other people looking into the camera.

A few reposted from other threads lately, just for continuity...

Thanks for reposting these. They are very, very cool. And, yes, they are also helpful for those, like me, who are either fascinated by the possibilities of the X-T5 or actually considering getting one as well. I have only one minor question-- on the last image in this series, a lovely canine portrait, the data beneath the shot appears to indicate it was taken by a 35mm lens, but it doesn't specify more. I'm curious which lens you used - and my curiosity partially stems from having appreciated several other of your shots, which were taken with the smallish f/2 'Fujicron' (i.e. the XF 35mm f/2 Fujinon lens), which happens to be one of my favourites. Was the dog also taken with your little Fujicron? or another lens?

Thanks.

The photo of my dog was taken with the TTArtisan 35mm f0.95. Funnily enough it’s the lens I am using for the single in challenge this February.

I am a sucker for the 35mm (50 ff eq.). I have the 35mm 1.4, the f2 version, and for a short while, the newer 33mm 1.4.

I sold the 33. It’s an awesome lens, but quite a bit larger/heavier than its siblings, and I felt the difference in iq wasn’t enough for me to keep it.

The old 1.4 is lovely. Peopl often talk about “character”. This has that. Although I’m unsure quite what that is?! Haha.

The f2, is a cracker! So small, so sharp, weather sealed. It is probably my most used lens.
