Fuji X10 for travel photography

Just purchased a X10 for travel photography and was wondering if anybody out there has used the X10 as a sole camera on trips and what they think about it.

If you're satisfied with the focal length range the zoom covers (don't need super wide or long tele) I think it would work pretty well, though I don't speak from experience. If I were traveling -- and it looks like my next trip to Laos won't be until 2014, dammit -- I'd take the x10 as backup to my main digital shooter, the E-M5. But if you prefer to travel with a lighter kit, I can't imagine why the X10 would not do the job, unless you were traveling at a latitude where night lasts most of the 24 hours.

I would take it as a sole camera (then again I prefer to travel light) and nianys just took it as her only camera on a trip to the French Alps.

I'm totally confident from now on to take nothing but the X10 on future trips. It certainly is competent enough that I don't want to bother with anything else.

I used travel with a huge DSLR kit until around early 2010. Prior to that, I had lugged around a &@$(#* load of stuff starting in 2002 with my first DSLR and prior to that SLR's. Can the X10 be a good and only travel camera? Without question. I've challenged myself to travel light often and have NEVER regretted it. I love it so much, I think I'm becoming a real minimalist photo gear guy. Here are some examples:

Daytrips: almost always X10
2003: Germany = Canon D30 + 28-135 (blog post)
2010: Las Vegas = GF1 + 20 f/1.7
2010: Washington DC/PA = Canon G11 (blog post)
2011: Disney World with kids = Lumix LX5
2012: Several day trips to the Rocky Mountains = Fuji X10
2012: Disneyland with kids = Fuji X100 + X10 (X100 was primary, I'm addicted to it)

If you are looking for a small travel go anywhere travel camera I think it will be great, I have used mine that way , and loved it
