Welcome aboard and thanks so much for these photos! You do know that you can chooses different color film styles in the X10's menu, if you don't want to post process?

As BB said, I suggest you experiment with the Film Styles. If you want more pop, there's Velvia. Right now I am quite happy with the pop I get from Pro Neg Hi (not sure if that exists in X10, I forgot). Also, did you notice that you still get great skin tones even when using flash?
That's one of the best features I noticed when I used the X10. Haven't tried it with the X-E1 yet, but I'll be surprised if it's not the same.
