I'm with you 100% on the dials. I may have become spoiled forever by having the aperture ring. Oh yes, and the amazing OVF/EVF!
I've actually found that the jpegs give me better NR than I can typically match in raw, with plenty of headroom still available for processing. I can sometimes match the jpeg quality, but I can't say I've ever bettered it, and matching it takes some work and a couple of steps, including running it through Nik Dfine...I find the noise reduction by the Fuji JPG engine pretty special. Not that the images at high ISO are noisy - quite the opposite - but sometimes the camera gives you as good result (subject and photographer willing) in JPG as you need.
I do find the aperture ring a little too close to the body but suspect that is because it is a new camera so need time
Which is why this is the first camera I've shot jpegs rather than raw...
