Did you add some sort of filter to make it all grainy and desaturated and soft like that? I always wonder why people use a great camera only to make their images look like they were shot by an instamatic.

Of course, that's the whole idea. I'd have brought an Instax, but Fuji didn't sell them in 2011 (I have one now). Luckily, the X100 and Lightroom can do the job just as well, probably even better.

The original X100 lives, and it still does a mighty fine damned job, too. My wife took our daughter hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire Monday - Wednesday, and I sent the X100 with her. She did a great job, I think. Some highlights:

Some friends just opened a public indoor skate park in an unused building near work. Yesterday was the soft opening, announced minimally, to allow the staff to work out kinks. I popped in at opening time, and shot a few. But the X-T1 had one dead battery and one almost dead, so I shot with the X100 as well, and this one came out well I think. Manual exposure, fast shutter speed, focus locked before he got there. I'll put the XT shots elsewhere.
