I recently spontaneously acquired a X100 from the first generation, since I love the 35mm perspective. However, I already own the Olympus 17mm F1.8 and Voigtlaender 17.5mm F0.95, but the latter is manual and heavy, and the former provides not enough shallow DOF. Also, I wanted to try the OVF. So far I am quite happy, although the X100 is far from snappy. Let's see how this story continuous....
The X100 experiment continues. So far I love the portability and OVF - due to the small lens better than the EM5 with the 17mm F1.8. Seriously considering getting a X-T20 for the 24MP, ASPC sensor aspect ratio and dynamic range.... but I am concerned regarding the IBIS and missing Olympus's inventions... Though this is from raw, I love the Fuji colors. Thought this would be an urban myth, but so far it turns out to be true...
Nice images! Whilst not as snappy, the original X100 is said to render differently and to some people, better than the s or t models. I totally agree with you in terms of the comparison with the Olympus 17mm f1.8.
