27mm on X-E2 playing with affinity on ipad pro to brighten things up a bit.

We go cross country skiing each Sunday right now, with my daughter taking lessons there from 10:30-Noon. That means the Mrs. and I finally get to ski as hard as we want for 90 minutes, which otherwise never happens. Given that this time (yesterday) it was going to be snowing the whole time, I figured…

… XE3 + XF27 = Tiny enough to ride on a strap inside my jacket?

And I was right. It’s an improbably tiny setup to have a 24MP APSC sensor and a sharp 2.8 on tap, considering the camera is interchangeable lens instead of fixed. It rode happily under the front of my coat, never annoying me. What DID annoy me was the touch screen. Anytime the strap, or a fingertip from my gloves got near the edge of the rear LCD, the focus point jumped there. And I couldn’t double-tap the joystick to re-center it without my thumbs glove finger overhanging, putting it right back at the top right corner. So …

… Damp gloves + Touch screen = Murder.

I want to elevate my previous liking for this lens a step or two, given how it performs on a new (X-E3) body. Went to cyclocross practice last night with the family, and the wife used our bike, so I had naught to do but shoot with the XE3 + 27 pancake. I thought it did great.

This is the third copy of this lens I've had. Currently I'm using it on the X-E3. I was unhappy with the sharpness on the first two copies. However, I'm getting a feeling that the auto focus accuracy on the X-E3 is partially the reason why this current copy is looking so good.
I've had similar senses with the X100F and the X Pro2 in part maybe because of the positional focus point through the joystick.
