Hello, all. A lot of recent names in this sub-forum are quite familiar.
  • I have several Olympus MFT cameras and too many lenses.
  • My primary image tools are DxO PL5, Gimp and Hugin.
  • My Flickr page is flickr.com/whidbeylvr
  • I live on an island in the Puget Sound / Salish Sea and have an occasional view of a snow-capped volcano (Mount Baker).
  • I used to travel, pre-pandemic. Hope to resume one day soon.

Welcome, Lyle :)

After reading your description of where you are located I had to check your Flickr stream; I think my wife would be envious of such a location! What are winters like on the island? Do you get cutoff in the winters months or is is relatively moderate?

Mount Baker Portrait

Something in-between sunshine and snow is typical (clouds, drizzle). There are bridges which link Whidbey to other islands and eventually to the mainland. We are seldom stuck here for very long.

Thanks for posting those, looks like an absolutely beautiful place. The snow fall looks no worse than what we get these days in SE PA.

You now have me going down the online rabbit hole of reading up on the area. :)
