Your FIRST Flickr* photo

This one, I think.

It's complicated for me, because my first Flickr photo in order of posting is from 2014, but it's not my oldest photo posted. And I know I had earlier photos once upon a time, but I cull Flickr photos somewhat often.

To further complicate matters, this is a more recent re-edit with better software of the original file, using Flickr's "replace" option. It's a lot like the original but just shows better PP skills than I had at the time (less harsh contrast and structure).

That was one ugly camera! It’s always fun looking back on our old gear. I was a definite Sony fan at that time.

I actually liked the way the camera handled. It and the Nikon Coolpix 900 series were different, but they had very nice handling. It was a time when manufacturers were willing to try different things to see what would stick. Too bad they didn't stick with that mentality.

Neat idea for a thread.

Might not be the first, but one of the first shots uploaded to an old Yahoo photos account, can't remember what was there as the account was closed over two decades ago. One shot from a hike up the west side of the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque in 1999 or 2000, taken with my first digital camera - Canon PowerShot A50 in all its 1.3mp 1280x960 glory. Set re-uploaded to pbase this evening. Pic looking back down to "the slide" portion of the La Luz Trail, where we had been earlier in the hike.

In 2004 when I moved to Nevada, I started shooting more with my new Nikon Coolpix 5400. Again, might not be the first, but in the first batch uploaded to my then new account at pbase. Old mission-style Union Pacific train station in Caliente, NV used mostly at the time as town offices and classrooms for extension classes through a college out of Las Vegas.

Taking an Amtrak ride in the southwestern US gives one a front-row seat (literally-ish) to a lot of these awesome old train stations.

It's nice when they can be restored and maintained instead of rotting and being torn down. This one had some issues but was generally in decent shape and still being used, instead of abandoned and deteriorating.
