I decided today that for X-Mas I want to add a new member to my furry family but of a different size: I will adopt (buy) a male Jumping Spider as my 2nd pet. I need to look into getting a glass enclosure (acrylic scratches too easily and will interfere with getting pictures through it) and make it cozy but pretty for the little guy.
I hope I can make him happy with curiosity and playfulness and get lots of macro shots as well, maybe make some nice backgrounds for him. The only struggle I anticipate is finding a way to maintain a 20 C constant temperature in the enclosure... this winter seems to be getting very cold.

And for the Little Princess more sweaters, she will need them if she wants to go out in the winter.

Oh, spiders are cool creatures. I bought myself a car from my mom and myself. Want to do more photography roadtrips. And it is sooo nice to be behind the wheel again. As we said about the sailboat: it is a hole in the sea where you pour your money… car is about the same, but oh so much fun!

After a couple years running an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge (nude elliptical) on my turntable, I’ve decided to upgrade to the Bronze (nude fine line). That’ll be my big non photography present to myself.

The better half and myself got a year pass to Balboa Park in San Diego, it gives us access to 16 museums in the park as well as other events. As our youngest recently left to college and my wife is recovering from a foot injury which limits our hiking, this seemed like a good way to spend time during the weekends. Even if we only go once a month - this is going to be well worth the investment.

It is also a photographic gift as well, since it is a fun place to take a camera. The park was built in the 1860s and expanded for a big event in the early 1900s - there are a lot of ornate buildings and lovely parks all over.

I picked up a couple of kitchen gadgets for my wife, and have one more I want to get. As for me, there's nothing that I want or really need. I just told my wife maybe a couple of new shirts to replace some that are worn out.
Be very careful Tony.
A few years ago a friend of ours told us her husband had bought her a set of pans as a Christmas present and she threatened to divorce him.
Oh, by the way...he was our vicar.

That's OK Brian. My wife loves kitchen stuff, and usually has at least one item on her wish list. Last year I got her a set of very nice cooking pans, and she loves them.

My husband would be wearing the pans if he bought them for my Christmas. If cooking was a hobby rather than a chore ..... hmmmm... nope, he'd stil be wearing them! Actually, he'd be using them, he cooks more than I do.

For my wife I got a gorgeous baritone ukele from our own @tonyturley. He took much better pics of it than I would so here are Tony's photos

I hope it brings her many hours of musical joy.
